Version Story was founded with a vision to bring the productivity and collaboration that software engineers enjoy into the hands of lawyers and other non-coders. Inspired by the powerful version-control model behind Git and GitHub, we set out to build a platform that makes document collaboration intuitive, clear, and effortless.
Our co-founder Kevin experienced firsthand the frustration of manual version management and cumbersome redlining processes while working as an attorney at Simpson Thacher. When Kevin shared these pain points with Jordan, when they were both working as software engineers, Jordan immediately recalled how challenging coding was before he learned Git. That conversation sparked the idea behind Version Story.
Today, Version Story empowers legal teams with a visual, intuitive solution for managing document versions, eliminating wasted hours spent hunting down versions or manually merging edits. Our mission remains the same as on day one: helping lawyers collaborate clearly, confidently, and productively—just like the best software teams do.
Kevin studied law and computer science at Stanford. He honed his legal skills and developed his understanding of lawyers’ needs as an M&A attorney at Simpson Thacher in New York. He then joined LinkedIn as a software engineer, where he met Jordan and began collaborating on the idea that would become Version Story.
Before co-founding Version Story, Jordan led development of LinkedIn’s content management system as a senior software engineer. Jordan studied computer science at the University of Michigan. He previously founded and sold a skateboard wheels company.
